The Holiday Project
Come Join us for Christmas Caroling on Christmas Day
A Message from Penny & Michael: The holidays are a tough time to be alone. While people everywhere are gathered with friends and families, some of our less fortunate neighbors don’t have that option. That is where The Holiday Project comes in. Every year, thousands of volunteers around the country make visits to hospitals and nursing homes. Throughout the Washington, D.C. region, Visit Team Leaders are working with volunteers to visit local facilities.
We have been leading these teams for almost two decades and we invite you to join on Christmas Day.
We will be going to three facilities: Hillhaven Nursing Home, Crescent Cities Center (Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center) and Prince George’s Hospital. Join us for all ... or just one.
Some of us sing (you don't have to have a good voice) while others visit with residents, patients and staff. So, bring some sleigh bells, wear something festive, wear your antlers, and bring your smile and some good cheer. Song books will be provided, as well as small gifts to distribute.
Most of all, remember that YOU ARE THE GIFT THAT MATTERS! Come one, come all. Bring a friend. Bring your children (they are especially welcome at the nursing homes).
Call or email Mike and let us know if you are coming and what facility you will be going to. Some people come to the first site and have so much fun that they tag along to the other sites while others may only do one or two. We always need more people at the hospital because it is a larger facility, but the more people we have at each location the better we sound and the more personal visits we get to do.
Happy holidays to all of you, and looking forward to seeing you on Christmas Day!
